The Power of Presence: Angel Booth Leads with Heart in the Title World

In the ever-evolving world of title insurance, few names stand out like Angel Booth. A powerhouse of knowledge, resilience, and grace, Angel is the embodiment of what it means to lead with both heart and hustle. This week’s Her.collective Friday Feature in the Women of Title series, we’re proud to highlight a woman whose path in the industry has been far from traditional— making her story all the more powerful and inspiring.

From Roseville to Nationwide: A Title Trailblazers Journey

Currently serving as a Senior Sales Executive at Premier Reverse Closings (PRC), Angel boasts an impressive 23-year career in the title industry, specializing in reverse mortgages. Based in Roseville, Northern California, she supports clients across the nation, with PRC licensed in 46 states. Prior to PRC, Angel’s career spanned several industry shifts, including significant time with Alliance Title, where many of her current colleagues also planted roots.

Falling Into Her Calling

“I literally ‘slipped and fell’ into the business,” Angel laughs, describing her humble beginnings. Starting at Fidelity through a temp agency, she quickly proved her worth and earned a permanent position. Her career path then meandered through various mergers and team transitions, eventually culminating in her current role. Along the way, she wore nearly every hat imaginable—receptionist, assistant, office chef, decorator, and more—proving that versatility is a superpower.

Worker “bees” and mentors

Angel is candid about the gender dynamics that shaped her early experiences. “For a long time, women were in the worker bee roles, and men held most executive positions,” she reflects. Despite feeling overlooked at times for asking too many questions or speaking her mind, Angel has seen—and helped shape—real progress. “I'm hopeful for my future and growth in the industry.”

Her mentor and now COO, Lisa Steele, played a pivotal role in that growth. Lisa’s encouragement and grace during difficult conversations made Angel feel seen and heard, even when course corrections were necessary. “She told me that people look up to me for direction and guidance. I’ll never forget that,” Angel shares.

Advice for the Next Generation

To women new to the title world, Angel offers wisdom hard-earned over two decades: “Relax. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Pace yourself, set your priorities—and always remember someone is watching.” Her approach to adversity? Kill 'em with kindness.

“Fight fire with fire and the whole house burns down. Stay rational, intentional, and don’t take things personally.”

Her WHY

Angel’s passion is rooted in problem-solving and service. “Knowing that my experience and knowledge is going to help people—that’s my why.” She finds joy in helping others navigate the complexities of title insurance, and she wears her confidence like a badge earned through time and tenacity. “I’m a Taurus,” she smiles, “so that might have something to do with it.”

More Than a Title Pro

Outside the office, Angel’s world revolves around her family and her “organized chaos” lifestyle. Married for 16 years to her husband Adrian, she’s a proud mom to Alayzha (24), Adrian Jr. (14), and Amaré (12), plus their beloved Frenchie, Ginger. The Booth household runs on sports, snacks, and school schedules, with Angel playing the role of coach, chauffeur, and head chef all rolled into one.

Speaking of food—Angel loves to cook, and lately, she’s been diving into baking too. “There’s always something fresh on the counter,” she says, although with two teen boys and a sweet-tooth-denying husband, it never lasts long. She also has a deep love for music and once nearly landed a spot in a Billy Banks workout video—“I didn’t go because I stayed loyal to my job,” she chuckles.

Philosophy and Legacy

Angel lives by the mantra “Fake it till you make it.” Not out of pretense, but from a place of persistence and problem-solving. “You won’t always have the answers, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying to figure it out.”

When asked about the legacy she hopes to leave, Angel’s answer is as genuine as she is: “I want my character to shine through. I want to be remembered as someone trustworthy, who did what she could to better any situation.”

Final Thoughts

To the women of Her.collective, Angel sends her gratitude and encouragement: “Thank you for the opportunity to share a bit of me. I’m honored and humbled.” Angel isn’t just a woman of title—she’s a woman of substance, strength, and soul. And in this industry, we need more just like her.

Her.collective Spotlight: Monica May-Dunn

In the ever-evolving world of title insurance, few women have made as profound an impact as Monica May-Dunn. As the CEO and owner of Arizona Escrow & Financial (AEF), her journey is one of resilience, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Monica has built a legacy that continues to inspire women in title.

A Career Rooted in Dedication

Monica’s career began in 1990 when she joined AEF as an assistant to the Controller at just 22 years old. "I didn’t start out thinking I would one day own the company, but I was eager to learn and determined to grow," she reflects. Within two years, she was promoted to Controller, setting the stage for her rise to leadership. By 2000, she was named Vice President and CFO, further solidifying her role in shaping the company’s future. Her journey culminated in 2023 when she acquired 100% of the company’s stock, becoming its sole owner. Under her visionary leadership, AEF has expanded its offerings, strengthened its market position, and emerged as Arizona’s premier escrow service provider.

Her expertise extends beyond personal property escrow to include commercial real estate transactions and the administration of holding accounts. Recognizing the industry's evolving landscape, she completed the Fintech Frameworks, Applications, and Strategies course at UC Berkeley, ensuring AEF remains at the forefront of innovation. "The industry is always changing, and I believe staying ahead of trends is key to long-term success," she shares. Her ability to navigate industry trends and drive growth has led to AEF’s most successful years, including record-breaking transactions and a strategic relocation of its headquarters to Phoenix’s Camelback business corridor.

A Mentor Who Inspired a Vision

Throughout her career, Monica has valued mentorship, crediting Lisa Riley as a key influence in her professional journey. "Lisa didn’t just teach me about the business—she showed me what it meant to lead with integrity and vision," Monica says. Lisa’s leadership and unwavering support played a pivotal role in shaping Monica’s confidence and drive. Recognizing the importance of mentorship, Monica now strives to uplift and empower the next generation of women in the industry, passing down the invaluable lessons she has learned.

Overcoming Challenges with Resilience

One of the most defining moments of Monica’s career came in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges. As an essential business, AEF remained open, but the sudden departure of the escrow team to another title company added another layer of difficulty. Just months later, the company’s founder passed away, leaving Monica at a crossroads. Rather than succumbing to uncertainty, she embraced the challenge, honoring the founder’s succession plan by purchasing the company. "I was faced with a choice: let fear take over or take a leap of faith. I chose to step forward, and it was the best decision I ever made," she recalls. Her fearless leadership secured AEF’s future and demonstrated her unwavering commitment to its legacy.

Advice for the Next Generation

For young women entering the title industry, Monica offers invaluable advice:

  • Master the Details: Understanding contracts, compliance, and timelines is essential.

  • Build Strong Relationships: Success in escrow is built on trust with realtors, lenders, and clients.

  • Find a Mentor: Learning from experienced professionals accelerates growth.

  • Know Your Worth: Confidence in your knowledge and skills is key.

  • Keep Learning: The industry is constantly evolving; staying informed is crucial.

  • Own Your Leadership: Take initiative and step into leadership opportunities.

"This industry rewards those who show up, do the work, and build strong relationships," she emphasizes. "Be the person others can trust and depend on."

Finding Strength in Purpose

Monica’s drive stems from a deep commitment to impact, integrity, and legacy. She finds fulfillment in empowering clients and partners, continuously growing in her expertise, and creating opportunities for women in the industry. Her reputation for excellence fuels her passion, and her dedication to leadership ensures that she remains a guiding force in title insurance.

Her recommended resources for professional growth include “Dare to Lead” by Brené Brown and her own podcast, “Practical and Positive Leadership.” She also finds inspiration in The Ed Mylett Show, which shares high-performance strategies from top business minds.

Navigating Workplace Challenges with Grace

Monica acknowledges that women can sometimes face workplace aggression from other women. She believes in handling such challenges with professionalism, setting clear boundaries, and addressing issues directly. "Not every woman will be your ally, but that shouldn’t stop you from being one," she advises. Her philosophy is simple: focus on collaboration over competition, seek out supportive women, and lead by example.

A Passion for Balance and Commitment

Outside of work, Monica’s dedication to AEF is evident in her unique career journey. When she married her husband, a helicopter pilot stationed in Yuma, she and the company’s founder developed a plan that allowed her to commute weekly. Over the years, that commitment grew to traveling four to five days a week—proof that when you love what you do, you find ways to make it work. "My journey hasn’t been conventional, but it’s been worth every challenge," she says.

Her Guiding Philosophy: Integrity

For Monica, integrity is the foundation of everything. Trust is paramount in the title industry, and she believes that leading with honesty, precision, and professionalism is the key to long-term success.

"At the end of the day, your reputation is everything. Do the right thing, even when no one is watching."

A Legacy of Leadership and Impact

Monica’s vision for her legacy extends far beyond transactions. She hopes to be remembered for the lives she has touched, the leadership she has exemplified, and the industry standards she has helped elevate. "It’s not just about closing deals—it’s about the people we serve, the partnerships we build, and the mark we leave behind."

A Message to Women in Title

To the Her.collective, Monica shares these words:

  • Own Your Expertise – Your knowledge is your power.

  • Support, Don’t Compete – Lifting others up strengthens the entire industry.

  • Lead with Integrity & Confidence – Character defines success more than titles.

  • Never Stop Growing – Continuous learning leads to career longevity.

Her story serves as a reminder that resilience, leadership, and unwavering commitment can break barriers and pave the way for a lasting impact. Allie Flath’s Journey of Leadership and Innovation in Title.

In the ever-evolving world of title insurance, few professionals stand out quite like Allie Flath. With over a decade in the industry and a passion for fraud prevention, Allie has carved out a reputation as a dynamic leader, mentor, and advocate for change. Her journey through title insurance is one of resilience, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to empowering others.

A Journey Rooted in Real Estate.

Allie’s career in real estate began in 2012, working for a small brokerage before transitioning into the mortgage industry. Her connection with a title company led to an unexpected opportunity in sales in 2014—an opportunity that would shape the trajectory of her career. Now, as a Partner Account Manager at CertifID, Allie is at the forefront of wire fraud prevention, equipping underwriters and title agents with the tools to safeguard their transactions.

Expertise and Industry Impact.

Based in Chandler, AZ, Allie leverages her experience in title insurance to educate and enable partners in fraud prevention strategies. She serves as a bridge between industry professionals and the solutions they need, ensuring that feedback from the field influences real-time advancements. Her expertise has made her a sought-after speaker at industry events, webinars, and thought leadership discussions.

Overcoming Challenges in a Male-Dominated Leadership Space.

Despite real estate being a predominantly female-driven industry at the practitioner level, Allie notes the stark contrast in leadership roles. “The process of buying and selling real estate is nurture-heavy, yet leadership remains predominantly male,” she reflects. Throughout her career, she has faced the challenge of being heard and advocating for necessary market adaptations. Her solution? Consistently proving her value and pushing for more inclusive leadership representation.

Mentorship and the Power of Relationships.

One of Allie’s greatest inspirations has been Cindy Tucker, a leader who played a crucial role in her career during a pivotal market expansion. Allie believes in the power of mentorship and emphasizes that success in the title industry is built on relationships.

“Your network is EVERYTHING! Ask a lot of questions, never stop learning, and surround yourself with experienced mentors.”

Staying Motivated: The Power of Purpose.

For Allie, success isn’t just about closing deals—it’s about making a tangible impact. “Time is our most valuable resource,” she explains. Whether simplifying processes for title professionals or providing homebuyers with peace of mind, she is driven by the desire to make transactions more efficient, secure, and user-friendly. This philosophy extends into her personal life, where she juggles a demanding career with raising three young children.

Words of Wisdom and a Commitment to Growth.

When it comes to personal development, Allie finds inspiration in The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. “It’s not a traditional business book, but its lessons on persistence, adaptability, and intuition are incredibly relevant,” she shares. She also stays informed through podcasts like Fraudish, A Bit of Optimism, and HousingWire Daily.

Her philosophy in work and life can be summed up in one word:

Impact. “If I’m not making an impact on my team, my partners, or the industry, then I need to reevaluate what I’m doing.”

Creating a Legacy of Collaboration and Strength.

Allie is a firm believer that women in title need to uplift each other rather than compete for limited leadership spots. “There’s enough room for all of us to succeed,” she emphasizes. She is dedicated to fostering an industry where collaboration prevails over competition and where fraud prevention becomes a collective effort rather than an individual burden.

Her long-term goal? To leave a legacy of efficiency, innovation, and advocacy in the title space. “If my work helps others grow, achieve their goals more efficiently, and drive real progress in the industry, then I’ve made a difference worth being proud of.”

Final Thoughts for Women in Title.

Allie’s message to the Her. Title Collective community is one of empowerment and encouragement: “Never underestimate the value you bring to this industry. Keep learning, keep pushing, and keep advocating for yourself and others. When you walk into a room, don’t be afraid to take up space.”

With leaders like Allie Flath driving change, the future of title insurance looks more secure, more collaborative, and more inclusive than ever before.

Thank you for embodying grace and excellence in the title industry and for allowing us the honor of sharing your inspiring journey!
